ASK0047 : Designated Safeguarding Leads – Refresher Training Sessions

This full day course meets the statutory requirements of the two-year Refresher Training for Designated Safeguarding Leads in schools.

As part of the arrangements which must be in place as required by S.175/S.157 of the Education Act 2002 and “Keeping Children Safe in Education” all schools must have a member of the leadership team as their Designated Safeguarding Lead.

This person must take lead responsibility for dealing with child protection issues, referring concerns of significant harm, providing advice and guidance to support all staff to carry out their safeguarding duties, overseeing the school provision of early help and liaising with other agencies as required.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead must receive training which gives them the knowledge and skills needed to fulfil their responsibilities and this training must be updated every two years. The course that we have planned meets these statutory requirements.

ASK0120 : The Present : Eight Week Course

For leaders, teachers and support staff who want to take responsibility for their own wellbeing

The Present is a new style of eight-week course designed to introduce wellbeing and mindfulness to busy adults. The course focuses on encouraging friendly, mindful awareness towards experience in the midst of busy lives. It offers opportunities to bring awareness to all elements of our lives; at home and in school and therefore a clearer sense of how to take care of our own wellbeing so that we are in a better position to support the wellbeing of the young people that we work with.

Once completed, this course is also a recognised Foundation Course should you wish to progress to training to teach mindfulness to pupils through the Present or Paws or .b curriculum.

Most schools recognise the importance of the Governing Body nominating an individual governor to champion safeguarding and child protection issues within the school. This person is often known as the “Safeguarding Governor”. It is important that such governors fully understand the responsibilities of this role and the part they can play in monitoring and helping to develop more effective practices.

ASK0054 : Teach Mindfulness to Children

Mindfulness practice increases children’s awareness of self, others and help them to direct their attention and control distraction.  In partnership with MISP (Mindfulness in Schools Programme), Inspire is offering training to teach mindfulness to primary aged pupils through the paws b curriculum.  This is a high quality training where the techniques and materials provided are fully grounded in research and evidence based practice emanating from Oxford, Cambridge and Bangor Universities.
